Expressing Musical Creativity & Passion
KUALA LUMPUR, 2 NOVEMBER – The Malaysia Belgium Luxembourg Business Council (MBLBC) and the Belgium Embassy along with platinum sponsor BIGbox Asia will be organising the Young Malaysians Go Classic II (YMGCII) event on this 16th November 2017 at Connexion @ Nexus Bangsar South, Kuala Lumpur.
YMGCII is a CSR-initiative by the MBLBC which enjoys the full support of the Belgian Embassy. The event aims to provide young musicians living in Malaysia an opportunity to display their musical talents in front of an international and appreciative audience of international business-people, government officials, musical colleagues and parents. The talented youths of YMGC will also be the main attraction and entertainment for the EU-Malaysia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (EUMCCI) organized EUROPA Awards, happening on the 24 November 2017.
“Our main goal is to provide artistic exposure to local communities and future leaders. It does not matter if we’re from various nations, with YMGC we are all people of one musical nation,” said Daniel Pans, Vice President of MBLBC and also the inspiration behind the YMGC.
This is the second time that the MBLBC will be collaborating with the Belgian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur for YMGC, after its extremely successful inaugural back in 2013. The evening will be in conjunction with the celebration of the 60th anniversary of Belgium – Malaysia Bilateral Relations, as well as to celebrate Belgium’s King’s Day in Kuala Lumpur. Platinum sponsor of the event, Bigbox Asia is an e-commerce grocer powered by specialised food distribution company, DPO International.
World-renowned Belgian conductor, Sir Dirk Brossé will be conducting the young talents of YMGCII in performing famously intricate set pieces such as 1492: Conquest of Paradise by Vangelis, Spectre – James Bond: Writing on the Wall by Sam Smith and even the Les Miserables Collection just to name a few. Dirk Brossé is currently the Music Director of ‘The Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia’, Music Director of the Film Festival Ghent and Music Director and Principal Conductor of the ‘Star Wars in Concert World Tour’.
Other accomplished talents that will be contributing their musical skills include Mr. Kevin Field – the long time Principal Conductor of MPYO, Choir Leader – Mrs Susanna Saw and Composer – Mr Ken Hor. It is going to be a stunning show of musical performance.
