DPO International recently hosted the Belgian Delegation for the HALAL Hub2Hub North Port-Liege Mission on the 6th of April 2018 at their headquarters in Kuala Lumpur.
Discussions covered areas of new logistics projects in Malaysia like the One Belt One Road (OBOR) project with China and Europe, as well as Malaysia’s Digital Free Trade Zone (DTFZ) located near the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) and the HALAL Logistics certification process.
With a solid presence in the Asian region, DPO International was in a special position to advice the Belgian officials in the areas of complex food regulations and unique logistical challenges.
Primarily, discussions covered the various challenges of food logistics within Asia
Various food regulations in multiple countries and how they relate to food handling & transportation within Asia were also debated
DPO International’s logistics team also participated in the discussion, highlighting real life logistical challenges & potential solutions
Discussions continued during lunch, where participants dined and debated on issues related to food with an emphasis on Asia
