Question

Why are Ramly Burgers banned in Singapore?

ANSWER

All meat and fish products must comply with Wholesome Meat and Fish Act and Sale of Food Act in Singapore.

According to Singapore Food Agency (SFA) website, meat products can only be imported from accredited overseas meat and egg processing establishment that comply with Singapore’s food safety standards and requirement.

If the Ramly Burger is manufactured in Malaysia by Ramly Food Processing Sdn Bhd, this Ramly Burger is not allowed to import into Singapore as the establishment is not one of the approved establishment for export meat to Singapore.
