In May 2022, The National Health Commissions of the People’s Republic of China (NHC) has approved 3 new food raw materials and 18 new food additives.

  • Bifidobacterium longum subsp. Longum BB536

2. Food Additives

a. New food additive

  • Quinoline yellow aluminium lake

b. New enzymes for food industry

  • β-fructofuranosidase
  • β-glucanase
  • Protease
  • Trehalase
  • Phospholipase A1
  • Glucose oxidase
  • Lactase
  • Phytase

The quality specification requirements of enzymes should meet the requirements of the ’National Food Safety Standard, Food Additives, Enzymes’ (GB 1886.174).

  • Sodium sulfide pentahydrate

d. New nutrition enhancer

  • Inositol

e. Food additives with expanded scope

  • Transglutaminase
  • Magnesium Chloride
  • Sucralose
  • Lutein
  • Acesulfame potassium

f. Processing aids with expanded scope

  • Polyacrylamide
  • Polydimethyl siloxane and emulsion
