What added nutrients for flour fortification are permitted in Malaysia?

According to Twelfth Schedule of Food Regulations 1985, permitted added nutrients for flour fortification in Malaysia are shown in Table 1.

NOTE: Columns where the symbol “*” appear means that the substance may be expressed in milligrams or micrograms using the following conversion factors:

  1. In column (2) 1 I.U. Vitamin A is equivalent to 0.3 micrograms of Vitamin A alcohol (retinol);
  2. In column (10) 1 I.U. Vitamin D is equivalent to 0.025 micrograms of Vitamin D2/ Vitamin D3; and
  3. In column (11) 1 I.U. Vitamin E is equivalent to a milligram dl-alphatocopheryl acetate.
