Please help to check whether SSL and Citric acid ester can be used in drinking yoghurt according to legislation in Malaysia.

ANSWER

According to Food Regulations 1985, yoghurt drinks may contain permitted food conditioners listed under the Regulation 113, 11th Schedule. Sodium stearoyl lactylate (SSL) and Citric acid esters of mono- and diglycerides of fatty acids (CITREM) are permitted food conditioners as stated under the 11th Schedule.
