Is it permissible to add natural preservatives like natamycin and nisin into ice cream applications in China? If so, what are the max levels and should the preservatives be declared on the labelling?

ANSWER

According to National Food Safety Standard – Standard for Uses of Food Additives GB2760-2014, nisin and natamycin are not permitted to be used in ice cream applications.
