INTRODUCTION OF “HEALTHIER CHOICE” LOGO IN THAILAND

“Healthier Choice” nutritional logo is a logo that helps consumers to determine which food product they should buy regarding to nutrition and health concern. It is aimed to provide factual information for the consumers to make an informed decision for their buying.

Display of the “Healthier Choice” nutritional logo on food products should comply with the Ministry of Public Health’s Notification No.373 (2016) on the Display of Nutritional Logo on Food Label as announced in the Royal Gazette on February 25, 2016.

For any food manufacturer, importer, or food distributor intending to display the nutrition symbol on the food label, the food product shall be initially inspected and certified by the Nutrition Promotion Foundation under the Institute of Nutrition of Mahidol University, or other relevant agencies.

 

PROCEDURE FOR REGISTERING PRODUCTS WITH A “HEALTHIER CHOICE” LOGO

1. The applicants must have the result of nutrient analysis of their product.

2. Fill up application form from the website: www.healthierlogo.com and prepare relevant documents

1. Submit all documents via email, post or in person.

• Postal mail: the Nutrition Promotion Foundation 25/25, Institute of Nutrition, Mahidol University, Phutthamonthon Sai 4, Salaya, Phutthamonthon, Nakhon Pathom 73170.

4.     The results will be notified to applicant within 10 working days.

Note: There is no fee is charge for the application until 31 December 2020. Registration fee is 10,000 Bath/product start 01.01.2021 and renewal certificate fee is 10,000 Baht for 3 years validity.

3. Seasoning sauce

4. Dairy product

5. Instant food

6. Snack

7. Ice cream

8. Fat and Oil

9. Bread

10. Bakery products

11. Breakfast cereals

“HEALTHIER CHOICE” LOGO FOR EACH CATEGORIES

The nutrition symbol displayed on food label shall follow a format set by the Sub-Committee of Developing and Promoting the Use of Simplified Nutrition Symbol. Logo’s nutrition symbol can be used according to this link
