Question

Would like to get the information about the regulation in each country that what vitamin is prohibited to fortify in the food product especially in Milk, yoghurt, yoghurt drink, soy. For example, in China, they do not allow to add vitamin K in the product.

Malaysia

According to Food Regulations 1985, no label on a package containing any food shall bear a claim that such food is enriched, fortified, vitaminised, supplemented or strengthened, or shall contain any statement that may or is likely to convey the same meaning, unless as a reference to the quantity of the food as specified in column (1) of Table II to the Twelfth Schedule, provided not less than the amount of vitamin or mineral, as the case may be, specified in relation thereto in columns (2) to (17) of the said Table, that is derived from the source of added nutrient specified in Table I to the Schedule.

Thailand

In Thailand, it is allowed to add vitamins and minerals in food product of all categories. The additional dosages are required to comply with the FDA requirements as per attachment.

 

Indonesia

According to Peraturan Acuan Label Gizi (Nomor 9 Tahun 2016), the content of nutrients in processed food should not be more than 100% of ALG per day. Please find attachment for the ALG table.
