ANSWER

According to Regulation 18 of Food Regulations 1985, product packaging shall include the word “pure” or any other words of the same significance on the label must meet with criteria A and B:

a) The food is of the strength, purity, or quality prescribed by these Regulations and is free from any other added substances apart from those essential in the processing of such food; and

b) There is no expressed stipulation in these Regulations prohibiting the inclusion of such word in the label in respect of that food.
