ANSWER
JAKIM Malaysia has published 3 revised documents related to Halal certification: Malaysia Halal Certification Procedure Manual (Domestic) 2020, Malaysia Halal Management System 2020 and Malaysia Standard 2019 which will be implemented on 1st January 2021.
The updated content on these 3 documents concern improvements on the existing requirements, general requirements of the Halal Assurance System and halal standards to facilitate the procedure for competent authorities and for applicants’ reference.
One of the changes under Malaysia Halal Certification Procedure Manual (Domestic) 2020 is related to the Halal logo display on the product label. The new requirement for the Halal logo is to state the standard reference number without the year (example: MS 1500) as per the picture shown below:

After receiving many inquiries from industries regarding the new Halal logo amendment in packaging labels, JAKIM has decided to give a grace period as to ensure industry have sufficient time to follow new requirement:
The industry is allowed to adopt the balance of existing product labels until 31st December 2021.
Submit official notification letter along with product justification and details for further consideration by the competent authority for the remaining product labels after 31st December 2021.
The industry is also allowed to continue to exchange existing product labels according to the new format of MPPHM 2020 this year (before 1st January 2021) if there is a need.
