Market Trends In Sri Lanka – Bakery

​Reeling from a food shortage crisis, Sri Lanka’s consumption of bakery products fell by nearly 50% in 2022 due to a shortage of wheat flour and a spike in prices.​

However, Sri Lankans are still seeking healthier options of baked goods that are high in fibre and low in sugar. There is also a growing demand for frozen bakery products due to its convenience and longer shelf life.
